Leslie here,
Sorry it’s been a while again. I spent a few days in the hospital last week due to a gallbladder attack, and have spent the week recovering at home. Special thanks to my family for helping watch the little ones, visiting me in the hospital, and praying for me. I’m doing well, and I have a renewed sense of joy and gratitude for our wonderful home, our little babies, and all the people who love and need me.

Today I (Leslie) had to return to the comic expo to fetch and autograph from Sir Patrick Stewart for a friend. I took Nathan this time, and he really enjoyed it! What was origonally a quick errend turned into a really fun day thanks to him. I expected to just be in and out, since I had pre-purchased an autograph yesterday, but that was far from what really happened.
The line outside to get in was over an hour, moving at a leasurely walk. But little nathan spent the whole time commenting on all the great costumes he spotted (darth vaders and robots abounded!) and how nice the weather was. After getting in, they told us they had stopped selling tickets for the door due to overcrowding, but a kind staff member noticed Nathan and let us in for free. Lines continued indoors as we patiently waited patiently together along with hundreds of others waiting for an autograph, and passed the time playing games and getting to know our line-mates. We even got to breifly meet “q” from star trek while standing there, thanks to nathan’s shouting “HEY Q!!” a few times. Nathan knew we were going to see Captain Pickard, and he wanted to ask for a ride in the spaceship. I let him know there would be no spaceship rides today, but we could go get his face painted after instead. Our turn came, and nathan spotted “Captin DeCard” right away. He was very nice, and sorrofully let nathan know that he would certainly give him a ride on his spaceship if he could, but he didn’t bring it with him today. I got the chance to thank him and mention that I was glad he was back doing shakespere again, and he said with relief that he’s very glad to be back in the theatre again.
After that, we went for onigiri (rice sandwiches) and after another lineup, got nathan’s face painted like a tiger. He was so excited! he growled at everyone on our way out. I can’t believe he was so well behaved, polite, and content in all those lines and with all that walking. Sometimes kids make things so much more fun! He might not remember the day he met Sir Patrick Stewart, but I will. he might remember the day he got the be a tiger though.

Oh I’m very sorry Nathan, I haven’t got my spaceship with me today. But I sure would love to have you on board if I could.
— Sir Patrick Stewart (responding to the request of my 3-year-old (little Nathan) to take a ride on Picard’s spaceship)

SO MUCH NEWS!!
Brian’s best friend Jay came down for a visit!! YAY!
The three of us adults got to take a little trip together to the Comic Expo, and had our photos taken with none other than .. SIR PATRICK STEWART!! Someone we all have admired through our childhoods as his role of Captain Jean-luc Picard of the USS Enterprise on Star Trek the Next Generation. That evening we managed to scalp a ticket for Jay, and all attend the cast reuinion for the 25th anniversary of the show. It was very busy there, very disorganised, but we sure had fun reliveing memories of our favorite childhood TV series.
